A grammatical category is a general term. It encompasses among other things:*Grammatical aspect A grammatical category is a set of features which express related conceptual distinctions. The features in the same category are mutually exclusive, and often expressed in a similar way. They are often the subject of agreement constraints.
   For example, in English, the grammatical number of a noun is either singular or plural, which is expressed by the absence or presence of the suffix -s.
